Therapy

Therapy tailored to you

Whether you're seeking support for yourself, your child or your family, finding the right psychologist is an important first step.

At Wellbeing in Mind, we take the time to understand your concerns, strengths and goals before developing an individualised therapy plan. Our psychologists draw on a range of evidence-based approaches to provide support that is tailored to your unique needs, rather than taking a one-size-fits-all approach.

We believe therapy should be collaborative, practical and compassionate, helping you build insight, develop skills and create meaningful, lasting change.

Our clinicians are trained in a wide range of evidence-based therapies, including Cognitive Behavioural Therapy (CBT), Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT), Schema Therapy and Eye Movement Desensitisation and Reprocessing (EMDR). Your psychologist will recommend the therapeutic approach—or combination of approaches—that best suits your goals and needs. Therapy is tailored to your individual needs, with clinicians drawing on these approaches as appropriate throughout the therapeutic process.

Adults

Our psychologists support adults experiencing a range of mental health concerns, life challenges and personal transitions. We provide a supportive and collaborative space where you can explore your experiences, develop insight, and build strategies to support your wellbeing.

We recognise that every person’s experiences, strengths and goals are different. Our psychologists take an individualised approach, drawing on evidence-based therapies and adapting support to meet your needs.

We support adults with:

  • Depression and low mood

  • Emotional regulation and coping strategies

  • ADHD and executive functioning difficulties

  • Autism and neurodivergence

  • Self-esteem and self-understanding

Couples

Relationships can be a source of connection, support and growth, but they can also experience challenges at different stages of life. Our psychologists provide a supportive space for couples to better understand each other, improve communication and work through relationship difficulties.

Couples therapy may support couples who are experiencing:

  • Communication difficulties

  • Recurring conflict or disagreements

  • Changes and transitions within the relationship

  • Differences in needs, expectations or priorities

  • Trust and connection difficulties

  • Challenges related to parenting, family life or major life changes

Our psychologists work collaboratively with couples to explore relationship patterns, develop understanding, and build healthier ways of communicating and responding to one another.

Mother and Child

Parents & Families

Supporting a child often involves supporting the people around them. Our psychologists work collaboratively with parents and caregivers to better understand each child’s needs, strengths and experiences, and to develop practical strategies that can be used beyond the therapy room.

Depending on your child’s goals and needs, therapy may include parent-only sessions, parent involvement during appointments, or collaborative sessions with the child and their caregivers.

We support parents and families with:

  • Neuro-affirming parenting approaches for autistic children and children with ADHD or FASD

  • Understanding and supporting developmental differences

  • Navigating diagnoses and support needs

  • Supporting emotional regulation and behaviour

  • Adjusting to disability or chronic illness

  • Perinatal and postnatal anxiety and depression

Adolescents

Our psychologists provide a supportive and non-judgemental space where adolescents can explore their experiences, develop insight and build practical strategies to support their wellbeing.

We take a neuro-affirming and individualised approach, recognising that every young person has their own strengths, goals and ways of experiencing the world. We work collaboratively with adolescents and their families to provide support that is meaningful and appropriate to their needs.

We support adolescents with:

  • Anxiety and stress

  • Depression and mood concerns

  • Emotional regulation

  • ADHD and executive functioning difficulties

  • Autism, intellectual disability and developmental differences

  • Self-esteem and identity

  • School and study challenges

  • Friendships and relationships

  • Building independence and life skills

  • Trauma and PTSD

  • OCD

  • Grief and loss
