Tania previously worked in private practice as a clinical psychologist and neuropsychologist in Cape Town, South Africa for over 10 years. Currently, she provides complex neurodevelopmental and cognitive assessments and psychological support for a range of conditions including autism, FASD, ADHD, genetic conditions, acquired brain injury, across the lifespan at both our Kenmore and West End clinics. She also works part time at Griffith University in both a research and clinical capacity where she is involved in a service providing complex diagnostic assessments for young children (age 3-7) with Fetal Alcohol Spectrum Disorder.
Tania is trained in the use of a variety of neuropsychological and neurodevelopmental assessment tools including the Autism Diagnostic Observation Schedule (ADOS-2) and Griffiths Scales of Child Development (Griffiths III). She is registered with the ARICD as a Griffiths III tutor.
She furthermore has a special interest in the treatment of anxiety disorders (e.g. phobias, panic disorder, general anxiety disorder), obsessive-compulsive disorder, and functional neurological disorders (e.g. non-epileptic seizures).
Tania has experience in a range of psychological treatment approaches including Cognitive Behaviour Therapy, Rational Emotive Behaviour Therapy and Schema Therapy. She also offers focussed behavioural interventions (i.e. Positive Behavioural Support), which can be helpful to assist families in managing behaviours of concern secondary to conditions such as intellectual disability, autism, dementia, and head injury
Tania previously taught at undergraduate and post-graduate level at the University of Cape Town and the University of Stellenbosch and has extensive experiencing supervising trainee psychologists. She is registered as a board approved supervisor with AHPRA.
She provides supervision for 5+1 interns, overseas trained psychologists completing the transitional program, and acts as a secondary supervisor for psychologists completing the clinical and neuropsychology registrar program.
