Therapy Fees

Individual Therapy

Session fees vary depending on the type of clinician you see. The table below outlines our standard fees for private appointments and appointments eligible for a Medicare rebate.

* Medicare rebates are available for clients with a valid Mental Health Treatment Plan

** Out-of-pocket for subsequent appointments

We understand that therapy is an investment, and financial pressures can make accessing support more difficult. If you're experiencing financial hardship, a reduced fee may be available. Please speak with your treating psychologist to discuss your circumstances and the options available.

Please note that we do not offer bulk-billing.

Couples and Family Therapy

Couples and family therapy begins with an assessment phase to help the psychologist understand each person's perspective, the concerns bringing you to therapy, and the goals for treatment.

Depending on your psychologist's clinical approach and the needs of those attending, this assessment phase may involve joint sessions, individual sessions with each participant, or a combination of both.

Following the assessment phase, ongoing therapy is typically conducted in joint sessions. Subsequent appointments are charged at the standard consultation fee.

*A one-time initial consultation surcharge applies at the beginning of couples or family therapy, regardless of whether the assessment involves individual, joint, or combined sessions.

Couples therapy is privately billed and is not eligible for Medicare rebates.

Payment & Booking Policies

After-Hours Appointments

Appointments scheduled before 9:00am or after 5:00pm incur a $20 after-hours surcharge.

Payment Methods

Payment is required at the time of the consultation.

All clinics are equipped with EFTPOS facilities and accept credit and debit cards (excluding AMEX). We can also process payment using a securely stored credit card, over the phone, or via direct deposit.

Following payment at the end of your consultation, we will process any applicable Medicare rebate electronically. Please ensure we have your current Medicare details to avoid delays in receiving your rebate.

Card on File Policy

To secure your appointment, we require valid credit or debit card details to be provided at least 48 hours (excluding weekends and public holidays) before your scheduled appointment.

Please note:

  • Your card will not be charged when you book your appointment.

  • It will only be charged if a cancellation fee or non-attendance fee applies under our Cancellation Policy.

  • Your card details are stored securely using an encrypted, PCI-compliant payment system (Tyro) and are not accessible to clinic staff.

If you prefer not to keep a card on file, you may choose to pay a $100 deposit instead.

Appointments without valid card details or a deposit on file at least 48 hours (excluding weekends and public holidays) before the scheduled appointment may be cancelled.

Thank you for your understanding and for helping us maintain a fair, reliable, and respectful booking process for all clients.

Funding Options

Medicare: Mental Health Treatment Plan

Your GP, paediatrician, or psychiatrist can assess whether you are eligible for a Mental Health Treatment Plan (MHTP) and, if appropriate, refer you to a psychologist.

With a valid MHTP, you may be eligible to receive Medicare rebates for up to 10 psychology sessions per calendar year. Typically, your initial referral covers 6 sessions. Once these sessions have been completed, you will need to return to your referring doctor for a MHTP Review to access the remaining 4 sessions.

To receive Medicare rebates, your Mental Health Treatment Plan must be in place before your appointment.

Medicare: Chronic Condition Management Plan

Your GP can assess whether you may be eligible for a Chronic Condition Management Plan (CCMP).

If you are eligible, a CCMP can provide access to up to 5 Medicare-rebateable sessions per calendar year across eligible allied health services. The 5 sessions are a combined total across all eligible services, rather than 5 sessions per type of provider. For example, you could use 2 sessions with a physiotherapist, 2 sessions with a psychologist, 1 session with a dietitian. Alternatively, you can use all 5 sessions with the same type of provider if this is what you and your healthcare team decide is most appropriate.

The Medicare rebate for a CCMP session is lower than the rebate available under a Mental Health Treatment Plan. The current Medicare rebate is $63.40 per session.

To receive Medicare rebates, your Chronic Condition Management Plan must be in place before your appointment.

Medicare: Complex Neurodevelopmental Conditions and Eligible Disabilities

This scheme is available to people under 25 years of age, who may be eligible for Medicare rebates for up to 10 treatment sessions. If additional treatment is required, a further 10 sessions may be available on a new referral, following discussion and agreement between the referrer and treating clinician. A maximum of 20 sessions can be claimed per person over their lifetime under this scheme.

The type of practitioner who can provide the referral depends on the individual’s condition or disability.

For treatment of complex neurodevelopmental conditions, the referral must come from a paediatrician or psychiatrist. Complex neurodevelopmental conditions include Autism, intellectual disability, global developmental delay, ADHD, and other eligible conditions.

For treatment relating to eligible disabilities, the referral can come from your general practitioner (GP).

Eligible disabilities include Fetal Alcohol Spectrum Disorder (FASD), Fragile X syndrome, and other eligible disabilities.

Important Information: While these services are covered under the same Medicare scheme, complex neurodevelopmental conditions and eligible disabilities are two different referral pathways, with different eligibility and referral requirements. A referral for the treatment of an eligible disability cannot be used for treatment of a complex neurodevelopmental condition, such as Autism, and vice versa. Please visit the Australian Government Department of Health, Disability and Ageing website for more information about this scheme.

Private Health Insurance Options

If you have private health insurance with extras cover, you may be eligible to claim rebates for psychology or counselling sessions. As benefits vary between insurers and policies, we recommend contacting your health fund directly to confirm your level of cover and rebate entitlements. Unfortunately, we are unable to check this information on your behalf.

For some clinicians, we can process private health insurance claims in the clinic. Please note that Medicare and private health insurance cannot both be claimed for the same consultation. If we are unable to process your claim on the day, we will provide you with a receipt so you can submit your claim directly to your health fund.

Please use these codes when confirming your benefits with your health fund:

  • 100 - Psychology Individual Assessment

  • 200 - Psychology Individual Treatment/Management

  • 300 -  Psychology Family/Couple Treatment

  • 500 - Counselling Individual Consultation

  • 800 - Counselling Individual Telehealth Consultation

National Disability Insurance Scheme (NDIS)

We welcome NDIS participants who are self-managed or plan-managed. Unfortunately, we are unable to provide services to participants who are NDIA-managed (agency-managed).
