Assessment Fees

Assessment Fees

Our assessment fee is $270 per hour for a general or clinical psychologist. The total cost of an assessment varies depending on the reason for the assessment, the scope of the assessment required, and the type of report requested. Lower-cost options may be available with a provisional psychologist.

To learn more about the assessments we provide, report options, and what to expect throughout the assessment process, visit our assessment page. For a personalised quote, please call or email us, or complete our online enquiry form and we will contact you to discuss how we can best support you.

If you are a medical or allied health professional, NDIS Support Coordinator, or Child Safety Officer, you can access our referral form here.

Funding Options

Medicare: Complex Neurodevelopmental Conditions and Eligible Disabilities

Children and young people under 25 years of age may be eligible for Medicare rebates under the Complex Neurodevelopmental Disorders and Eligible Disabilities assessment items.

Eligible clients can access Medicare rebates for up to 4 hours of assessment. If additional assessment time is clinically required, the referring practitioner may provide a new referral for a further 4 hours, following consultation with the assessing clinician. This allows a maximum of 8 hours of rebateable diagnostic sessions across a person's lifetime. These hours may be used over multiple appointments or, where appropriate, on the same day.

The type of referral required depends on the assessment being completed.

Assessment for Complex Neurodevelopmental Conditions

A referral must be provided by a paediatrician or psychiatrist.

This pathway includes assessments for conditions such as:

  • Autism Spectrum Disorder

  • Attention-Deficit/Hyperactivity Disorder (ADHD)

  • Intellectual Disability

  • Global Developmental Delay

  • and other complex neurodevelopmental conditions.

Assessment for Eligible Disabilities

A referral can be provided by your General Practitioner (GP).

This pathway includes assessments relating to eligible disabilities such as:

  • Fetal Alcohol Spectrum Disorder (FASD)

  • Fragile X Syndrome

  • and other eligible disabilities.

Important Information: Please note that although these Medicare items form part of the same scheme, they have different eligibility criteria and referral requirements. A referral for an eligible disability assessment cannot be used for a complex neurodevelopmental assessment (such as Autism), and vice versa.

For more information about Medicare eligibility and referral requirements, please visit the Australian Government Department of Health, Disability and Ageing website.

Please note that Mental Health Treatment Plans cannot be used for psychological assessments.

Private Health Insurance Options

If you have private health insurance with extras cover, you may be eligible to claim rebates for psychological assessment sessions. As benefits vary between insurers and policies, we recommend contacting your health fund directly to confirm your level of cover and rebate entitlements. Unfortunately, we are unable to check this information on your behalf.

For some clinicians, we can process private health insurance claims in the clinic. Please note that Medicare and private health insurance cannot both be claimed for the same consultation. If we are unable to process your claim on the day, we will provide you with a receipt so you can submit your claim directly to your health fund.

National Disability Insurance Scheme (NDIS)

We welcome NDIS participants who are self-managed or plan-managed. Unfortunately, we are unable to provide services to participants who are NDIA-managed (agency-managed).

Our fees are charged in accordance with the current NDIS Pricing Arrangements.

Clients are responsible for ensuring they have sufficient funding available to cover their assessment sessions.
