Camila holds a Bachelor’s degree in Psychology (Honours), a graduate certificate in mental health practice, and has experience in community clinical psychology.
She has a background in trauma recovery for children and young people. Her experience includes working with children and families who have endured domestic violence, sexual violence, refugee experiences and developmental trauma. She has extensive experience in early childhood interventions and developed programs for children and vulnerable families in foster care institutions in Venezuela.
Her approach is client-centred and non-judgmental, tailored to individual needs and fostering supportive relationships. She combines this with a psychodynamic perspective, exploring how past experiences shape current behaviour.
Camila has a strong interest in working with neurodiverse children and young people and offers alternative perspectives on mental health diagnoses, advocating for a holistic understanding.
She is also deeply interested in perinatal psychology, emphasizing the crucial role of the caregiver-child relationship in early emotional and psychological development"
